Follow and Maintain Choice Hotels standards for overall cleanliness of the hotel rooms as well as public areas.

To establish room set-ups and cleanliness standards ensuring that these are maintained.

To develop, implement and enforce departmental policies and procedures.

To develop, implement and maintain hands-on staff training programs.

To create shift checklists and collect them from staff at the end of each shift.

To lead by example, provide housekeeping staff the training required to provide exceptional Guest Service.

To set short and long-term departmental goals, and develop strategies to achieve them.

To deal with lost & found issues, keeps record of items and stores in safe place.

Ability to multi task, motivate and problem solve.

To schedule special cleaning (deep cleaning) projects and monitors the work.

To inspect guest rooms, public and service areas of the hotel, ensuring that standards of cleanliness are maintained.

To control the inventory of guest amenities, room supplies and linens.

To ensure that inventory storage rooms are clean and organized.

To keep meeting rooms clean and organizes as well as set up for the meetings booked.

To ensure that health, safety and fire procedures and regulations are followed.

To liaise with other departments, ensuring communication and the coordination of activities.

To ensure the associates have the necessary tools and supplies to conduct their responsibilities.

To provide operational support/assist housekeeping staff in performing their duties.

To perform laundry operations.

To clean all common area and public washrooms.

To ensure that all housekeeping cards are cleaned, organized and well stocked.

To liaise with maintenance to ensure the efficient operation of hotel facilities.

Responsible to adhere to all Policies and Procedures relating to the housekeeping department.

To possess thorough knowledge of chemicals and cleaning products.

To make daily notations in the maintenance log binder of all issues and follows-up as required.

To ensure that staff members are properly groomed and attired, including proper and complete uniforms.

To monitor and control the supplies needed and let management know of the supplies needed to be orders.

Receive shipments and verify the accuracy of the orders received.

Must be aware of the location of and how to use fire extinguishing equipment

Is fully prepared for fire alarms, bomb threat procedures and other safety requirement including the providing of emergency medical assistance.

Ensures Housekeeping staff is adequately trained in these procedures.

Additional duties as assigned by the management.

**Salary**: $17.00-$18.00 per hour
