**Closing Date**:April 24, 2024**CDCI Research is looking for a qualified IT Specialist to support our project teams. A key to success in this role will be strong financial and analytical skills and a high level of proficiency in Excel. There is a requirement for in-office (Ottawa office) work, but a hybrid schedule is a possibility for this role.**Position Summary**

Under the direction of the Senior Data Solutions Architect, the IT Specialist will undertake the management of IT equipment and software in the Ottawa office. The role will provide support to Project/Research Manager(s) and Research Coordinators to ensure that projects have the appropriate and functioning IT equipment and software installed for successful delivery of project requirements.

**Core Competencies**
- Knowledge of office hardware, office productivity software, and IT support best practices.
- Demonstrated ability to resolve office hardware and software issues, including documenting technical processes to improve overall company knowledgebase.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and manage competing project requirements.
- Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
- Ability to work with and communicate effectively with a variety of project team members.

**Major Responsibilities and Duties**

**IT Support/Infrastructure Management**
- Review IT tickets and resolve issues based on priority or project impact.
- Assist in staff member asset management by providing appropriate IT equipment and software as per project requirements.
- Perform system maintenance/and repair (hardware and software).
- Provide input into asset management system and infrastructure upgrades.
- Manage user accounts via Local AD or Azure AD (Active Directory).

**Experience and Qualifications**
- Minimum 2 years of experience performing IT Support functions.
- Post-secondary degree/diploma OR professional certification AND/OR equivalent professional experience in a relevant discipline (including, but not limited to asset management, information management, computer science, technology studies, or cybersecurity).
- Ability to provide basic IT support to team members, identify IT equipment requirements, and assess condition of equipment.
- Proficiency with MS Office 365 suite.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong documentation and oral communication skills.
- Ability to work independently with mínimal supervision.
- Ability to work and communicate effectively within a team environment.
- Familiarity with Hypervisor technology (Hyper-v and vSphere/ESXi)
- Eligible to obtain PWGSC security clearance.
- Asset qualifications:

- Experience with Sonicwall NetExtender and other remote-work tools.
