**Law Student Positions**

**Part-time, flexible positions available**

Auger Hollingsworth Accident & Injury Lawyers is looking to hire law students for current part-time positions. These opportunities provide great exposure to all aspects of a busy Ontario wide litigation law firm.

Our law student program is part of our long-term recruitment system and has been extremely successful for both the firm and the students. Our hiring approach includes part-time positions (during studies), full-time summer students, and articling students with the hope students return as an associate lawyer. This recruitment is for positions that will work on a part-time basis throughout the year.

**Eligibility**: Second year law students

**Hours**: Flexible hours and typically 5-10+ hours per week. Positions will include some set evening and weekend shifts/hours.

**Rate**: $30.00/hour

**Position State Date**: Immediately

**The Role**

Through these positions, law students will gain exposure to aspects of the firm’s litigation practice in accident and personal injury cases. Positions are designed to provide hands-on, practical experience using all firm systems and technology. Working alongside our litigation team, students will collaborate with our lawyers, paralegals and law clerks and will gain valuable exposure and skills across the full case cycle from new client intake through case resolution. Tasks and responsibilities will vary and may include:

- Legal and case support:_
- Contribute to drafting statement of claims, memorandums for mediations, pre-trials, various research topics, etc.
- Assist, under supervisions, in preparing pleadings, motion materials
- Research and write about case law, legal issues and civil procedure
- Liaise with firm lawyers and clients to gather and organize facts for file development
- Client Communication: _
- Support communication with clients, including conducting new client intake interviews
- Triage calls and speak with potential clients to determine the nature and scope of their case
- Arrange follow up meetings with lawyers
- Assist with preparation of retainer agreements and new client authorizations
