Journeyman Carpenter

West Coast Dream Homes Ltd. Is an award winning Design/Build Custom Home Builder located in Maple Ridge. We require a full-time lead hand for our Maple Ridge Residential Construction Projects.

Qualifications:

- Must own a vehicle and have a valid drivers licence
- Must be bondable
- 5 + years experience as a Journeyman Carpenter
- Work with a team and individually
- Familiar with BCBC
- Excecute good safety practices
- Reliable, motivated and goal orientated with a high level of initiative
- Have the appropriate safety attire and basic hand tools
- Complete carpentry and construction related tasks such as but not limited to:

- Determine specifications and calculate required materials
- Concrete Forming, Framing, Exterior and Interior Finishing
- Install floor beams, lay subflooring, walls and roof systems
- Erect, install, maintain and repair structures and related components, made of wood, wood substituted, lightweight steel and other materials
- Consult with, Lead and Direct site subcontractors
- Install windows and doors
- Measure, cut, shape and join different materials made of wood or other materials

Duties will include:
Working with a team of professional trades and designers, you will be responsible to lead a renovation or new build project on site from excavation to completion. You will be reading and interpreting plans, drawings and sketches. Your construction expertise will complete minor framing and construction tasks as noted above. You will be required to respectfully and professionally engage with clients and subtrades as needed. You will be enthusiastic and take initiative to keep the projects rolling.

You will be working alone and with a team. At times, you may be required to take on increased responsibility. You will also be required to pick up a broom when it is necessary, prepare for city inspections, and pick up materials from time to time.

**Salary**: $35.00-$40.00 per hour
