**Slave Lake District** includes Hilliard’s Bay, Lesser Slave Lake, Winagami Lake.
The Grande Prairie and Slave Lake districts are looking to fill Information Officer positions for the following parks:
- Saskatoon Island Provincial Park
- Young’s Point Provincial Park
- Lesser Slave Lake Provincial Park (Marten River Campground)
- Hilliard’s Bay Provincial Park

**Role**:
Lead Information Officers oversee the Information Officer or Booth staff for the District and provide day-to-day operations in Provincial Park campground booths.
- The Lead Information Officer is responsible for creating a positive, productive environment for up to three Information Officers.
- This position is a front-line customer service role that focuses on higher level administrative and leadership tasks, such as scheduling, staff training, inventory management, cash reconciliation, and reporting.
**Supervision and Leadership**
- Be a positive role model that acts as a guide for Information Officers (IOs) throughout the season
- Ensure Information Officers (IOs) receive appropriate training for booth operations, reservation system and Government of Alberta (GoA)directives
- Teach, provide feedback, and encourage teamwork
- Assist with staff scheduling, timesheets and day-to-day tasks
- Foster effective group work to complete daily tasks and offer exceptional customer service
- Work with their supervisor and other department leads to maintain open communication and act as the key representative for the Campground Registration Booths
**Booth Operations**
- Provide exceptional customer service as the first point of contact for visitors
- Understand the Reserve Alberta Parks (RAP) software and functions to register campers, update visitor information, and process payments or refunds using the system
- Operate cash register and point of sale machine
- Daily opening and closing tasks, ensuring booth locations are clean, secure and safe
- Participate in all required booth operations, including camper compliance, group and extra unit counts, opening/closing day use buildings and group use areas and daily cleaning
- Learn occupational health and safety policies, procedures and emergency protocols to prevent and provide support to visitors and staff in emergency situations
**Administrative Duties**
- Learn and adhere to all pertinent policies, procedures and protocols including campground rules and regulations and GoA directives
- Complete daily cash-outs and accurately enter data into Excel workbooks
- Review and reconcile camping revenue for daily cash-outs
- Record and organize statistics for public visitation and demographics required
**Visitor & Information Services**
- Stay up-to-date on relevant activities, opportunities, and conditions (trails, water, fishing, etc.) to provide to the public
- Plan and deliver activities to support special events
- Assist with development and/or delivery of various personal and non-personal visitor services
**Qualifications**:
**Education & Experience**:
- High school diploma and 1 year related experience with preference to supervisory or leadership experience
- Equivalency: Directly related experience considered on the basis of one year if experience for one year of education
**Additional Requirements**:
- Valid Class 5 or equivalent Driver’s License
**Additional Requirements prior to employment**:
- Valid First Aid / CPR-C certificate
- Valid Driver’s Abstract
- Valid Criminal Record Check
**Assets**:
- Experience in providing great customer service
- Strong verbal and written communication skills to interact with visitors
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office
- Experience with debit machines, handling cash, credit and debit card transactions
- Knowledge of Alberta Parks and direct experience with Reserve.Alberta.Parks.ca
- Familiarity with campground operations, park regulations, campground etiquette and surrounding Park amenities
- Ability to work independently
