Description

Reporting to the Manager, Settlement & Structured Transactions, the Analyst will be responsible to collaborate in the management of settlement associated with energy market trading and structured transaction agreements.

**Responsibilities**
- Ensure that daily and monthly settlement tasks are successfully completed;
- Validate and fully understand the accounting entries done for invoices and month end estimates while respecting the accounting organizational standards;
- Reconcile settlement statements and invoices;
- Fully comprehend structured transaction agreements and corporate company structure;
- Prepare invoices and month-end estimates for structured transaction agreements;
- Fully comprehend market settlement and charge code algorithms to develop a shadow calculation and a validation process;
- Fully comprehend charge code algorithms and the corporate structure in order to allocate the revenues and the charges to the right legal entities;
- Conduct research and analysis to remain current with market rules that impact settlement and revenues;
- Analyze current settlement processes, procedures and reports for continued optimization;
- Ensure proper regulatory reporting to Regulatory Agencies and Governments;
- Collaborate with various departments to ensure accuracy in financial and regulatory reports;
- Track and meet obligations within structured transaction agreements to ensure compliance with contract terms;
- Work with IT on systems improvements and upgrade projects;
- Work with various departments and external counterparties to understand, document and resolve settlement disputes;
- Support growth through due diligence, integration of new assets and new initiatives;
- Support the Regional Manager, Settlement & Structured Transactions and provide various updates on daily activities.

- Capable of solving problems and using sound judgment;
- Excellent written and oral communications skills in English; French is an asset.

**Qualifications**
- Undergraduate degree in Business Administration, Economics or a related financial/quantitative discipline;
- Minimum two (2) years of relevant work experience in a related field, preferably energy;
- Advanced Excel skills (i.e. Macros, Pivot Tables, PowerQuery);
- Knowledge of reconciliation and validation software such as Open Access Technology International, Inc.(OATI) is an asset;
- Knowledge of Industrial and Financial Systems (IFS) is an asset;
- Knowledge of Trade capture and Data Validation Systems is an asset.
