From Play To Words is a thriving private therapy practice offering multidisciplinary supports to children throughout Edmonton, and immediate surrounding areas (Spruce Grove, Stony Plain, Sherwood Park). We provide services to children 0-15 years of age.

We are looking to add an innovative and creative Behaviour Consultant to our close-knit team of SLPs, OTs, PTs, and Behaviour Consultants and Therapy Assistants.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Evaluates families and creates goals based on family need
- Supports families to learn strategies to improve child's behaviour skills
- Provides education to families on behaviour expectations, backwards and forwards chaining, social stories, visual supports
- Provides group intervention and parent support groups for behaviour needs
- Provides Triple P (Positive Parenting Supports) individual and in group intervention
- Facilitates supported community participation
- Works on a multidisciplinary team to holistically meet the needs of the child and family
- Provides documentation on progress with goals and current functioning
- Multidisciplinary report writing and possible attendance at MDT reviews
- Manage personal scheduling of clients
- Communicate effectively and compassionately with families and clients

**Working Conditions**:

- Driving from home to home, possibly 4-5 commutes per day
- Drive time and mileage is reimbursed
- Possible icy conditions outside of homes
- Able to lift 30 pounds to shoulders
- Varying conditions inside of homes including pets, various levels of household cleanliness
- Early evenings (until 6:30pm)

**Skills and Abilities**:

- Triple P training required
- Positive Behaviour Supports training required
- Nonviolent Crisis Intervention Training and asset
- Knowledge of Google Drive
- Knowledge of Boardmaker
- Comfortable working on a team
- Comfortable in self-directed role

**Education**:
Bachelor of Psychology an asset, other degrees considered

**Experience**:

- 2 years experience working with children with special needs in a behaviour support role (Autism, Down Syndrome, Cerebral Palsy, multiple medical needs)

**Requirements**:

- Recent Criminal Record Check (within 6 months)
- Child Welfare/Intervention Check

Pay: $36.00-$45.00 per hour
