Overview

Reporting to a Community Services Supervisor, the Program Support Representative provides client service, process expertise and administrative support to the Community Services Department, helping to ensure that the residents of the County of Renfrew are connected to accurate information, services and supports.

This is a contract opportunity until December 31, 2024.

**Responsibilities**:

- Perform the responsibilities of the position within the legislative and regulatory standards set out in the applicable Provincial and Municipal Acts. Performs the responsibilities of the position consistent with the Operational policies of the County of Renfrew.
- Perform front desk receptionist services. Provide information about Community Services programs (Ontario Works, Community Housing, Children’s Services) and answer general inquiries.
- Provide support with Community Services intake processes to determine the needs of applicants through in-person, telephone, and electronic communication. Record detailed information in the appropriate system and communicate regularly with caseworkers to best serve applicants.
- Provide office support and ensure effective flow of information. Responsible for receiving information, preparing reports, facilitating file transfers from other municipalities, and completing electronic document management duties.
- Provide knowledgeable information regarding available community resources to assist individuals in connecting with internal and external services for relevant supports.
- Perform integrated duties within the position that include, but are not limited to, waitlist management, payment management (daily/monthly cheque printing functions, accepting repayments and reimbursements, producing receipts), and data input for various Community Services programs (eg. Fee Subsidy, Ontario Works, Homelessness Prevention Program (HPP)).
- Review and populate the applicable Community Services networks when necessary (including, but not limited to, Social Assistance Management System (SAMS) and Ontario Child Care Management System (OCCMS)).
- Network and attend community events as required to represent the Community Services Department and to gain knowledge about community partners and other services provided throughout the County of Renfrew.
- Liaise with other Community Services offices throughout the province to facilitate communication and processes for daily tasks within our integrated services.
- Provide other administrative duties as required.

**Qualifications**:

- Post-secondary education in a social services or related human services field, or a combination of social services experience and education.
- Ability to problem-solve effectively and assist in implementing effective solutions to support individuals in crisis.
- Ability to work in a team-based setting and provide high-level administrative support.
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
- Excellent organizational skills and ability to multi-task effectively.
- Advanced computer skills. Including MS Office: Word, Excel, Outlook.
- Valid driver’s license and access to a reliable vehicle.

**Job Type**: Fixed term contract
Contract length: 6 months

Pay: $30.44-$34.27 per hour

Expected hours: 35 per week
