Bayfield Treatment Centres is looking for a Live-in Mentor for a staff-supported foster home. All living expenses (meals, accommodations, heat, hydro, home maintenance, etc.) are paid by Bayfield and the Live-in Mentor is paid an additional per diem for each youth that resides in the home. This opportunity is perfect for an individual or couple trying to save a large sum of money (perhaps for a down payment on their own home) in a relatively short period of time.

The Live-In Mentor is responsible for providing a nurturing, therapeutic home for four (4) Bayfield youth and providing for the mentoring of the Child Care Therapists assigned to the home. A summary of the responsibilities are as follows**:

- Provide a therapeutic living environment for the youth and ensure the development, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of programming based upon the youths' needs and interests.
- Work with the youth and direct care staff to ensure that meals are healthy and prepared with care, that the meal preferences of the youth are incorporated into meal planning and provide a family-like atmosphere at meal times.
- Work with the direct care staff to ensure they provide programming and activities to teach and practice life skills, to prepare the youth for independence.
- Prepare documentation for, attend and participate in meetings required for the treatment planning for the youth in the home.
- Provide the full and part-time Child Care Therapists and placement students working in the home with direction, feedback on their job performance.
- Develop, foster and promote a strong sense teamwork within the home, focusing the team on organizational objectives, providing feedback on team and individual successes and problem solve to overcome team challenges.
- Ensure that program staff are actively engaged in coordinating, promoting and participating in activities and chores _with_ the youth.
- Consult and work with the School Principal, Vice Principal and School Program Supervisor regarding improving student attendance, alternative programming and homework completion.
