**Job Summary**

A Lab Technician at Nova Steel Woodstock’s responsibilities will consist of collecting machine samples for tensile testing, performing tensile testing, updating Stratix systems based on the test reports, and performing calibration of gauges and maintaining the log of system for gauges. They will be accountable for managing test reports based off the campaign number, allocating the gauges required for production and sending gauges to third parties if repairs are needed. They will be expected to be able to provide training on tensile testing, inform the quality and production team if any of the material failed to meet the requirements and participate in quality meetings.

**Duties & Responsibilities**

Collect and machine samples for tensile testing

Perform tensile testing

Update Stratix system based on the test reports

Perform calibration of gauges and maintain the log system for gauges.

Manage test reports as per the campaign number

Allocate the gauges required for the production

Sending gauges to third parties if repairs are needed

Maintain and Organize records in accordance with the Nova Steel System requirements

Work closely and support the Quality Engineers with tasks where required

**Job Qualifications**
- **Education**_

At least one year certificate from college or technical school
- **Experience**_

At least three to six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
- **Skills and Abilities**_

Good verbal and written communication skills including training of all operators in the understanding of necessary QUALITY procedures

Automotive product/process knowledge

Understanding and interpretation of customer engineering standards/requirements an advantage

A working understanding of PC computer software programs and usage including spreadsheets, graphics, and databases

Familiarity with geometric tolerance concepts and the operation of gauges and test equipment

Strong mathematic and analytical background with knowledge of statistical fundamentals

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

**Salary**: $21.63-$24.00 per hour
