Veterinary Assistant

Breadner Veterinary Services is seeking a Veterinary Assistant to join our innovative and dynamic team.
Job Duties:
Technical Applications & Role Awareness
- Greets, handles, and treats pets with kindness, compassion, patience, and skill using Fear Free techniques.
- Efficiently, accurately, and safely performs animal handling and husbandry duties. Ensures hospitalized patients are comfortable, clean, exercised, and fed according to instructions.
- Provides direct assistance to Technicians and general assistance throughout hospital with appointments, treatments, procedures, and surgeries.
- Understands and follows best medicine, hospital initiatives, SOPs, and programs.
- Acts as the liaison between clients and medical team and relays all necessary information timely and correctly. Identifies and addresses any issues.
- Correctly enters client and patient information into PMS and confirms it’s up to date at every visit.
Qualifications:
- Experience in the Veterinary industry preferred
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills required
- Multi-tasking and organizational skills
- Problem solving skills with the ability to adapt, be creative, and offer quick and effective solutions

**Salary**: $18.00-$20.00 per hour
Schedule:
- Monday to Friday
- Weekends as needed
Ability to commute/relocate:
- Saanichton, BC V8M 2A6: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)
**Experience**:
- Veterinary Assistant: 1 year (preferred)
- Customer service: 1 year (preferred)
