**Job Summary**
The Maintenance Technician, under the direction of the Senior Manager, Facilities, will primarily be responsible for the maintenance and upkeep of Toronto Humane Society facility, equipment and machinery. This position will ensure high standards of safety, workmanship, and efficiency. This role will also adhere to company policies and standards for safety and quality.
**Main Duties/Responsibilities**
- Perform and ensure the completion of preventative maintenance on Toronto Humane Society mobile and stationary mechanical equipment, including but not limited to; Floor Scrubber, Floor Buffer, dishwashers, laundry equipment
- Perform and ensure the completion of preventative maintenance on Toronto Humane Society vehicles
- Seasonal, Annual and otherwise routine start-up and shut down of facilities service equipment
- Attend to plumbing and HVAC concerns
- Assist with jobsite administration duties, such as completion of any logs that need to be maintained
- Perform maintenance and safety checks on all equipment and tools
- Maintain inspection records and complete inspection reports
- Equipment installation
- Perform and complete construction, retrofitting and renovation projects of the Toronto Humane Society, to include but not limited to; framing, basic plumbing, drywall, tile, floor sealing
- Assist with parking enforcement
- Grounds maintenance
- Maintain a tidy working area, free from dirt and debris between tasks and at the end of the day, and willingly perform additional cleaning duties, including washroom maintenance.
- Foster, promote, support and drive inclusion and influence others to promote, embrace and progress Diversity, Equity & Inclusion at Toronto Humane Society.
- Attend and participate in workshops, seminars, and in-service training to further personal education, skills, and training.
- Be aware of and work within the regulations of all Toronto Humane Society policies and protocols
- Work in compliance with the provisions of the OHSA and its regulations including understanding and adhering to the requirements of the Health and Safety Manual and any other rules and regulations established by Toronto Humane Society
- Work cooperatively with all volunteers and recognize the talent and commitment they bring to the Society
- Other Duties as required in the day-to-day operation of the Society

**Qualifications/Requirements**
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum 5 years’ maintenance technician experience or equivalent
- Certificate in HVAC, building maintenance technology or relevant field an asset
- Or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job
- Basic understanding of electrical, hydraulic and other systems
- Knowledge of general maintenance processes and methods
- Working knowledge of tools, common appliances and devices
- Manual dexterity and problem-solving skills
- Must have or be able to obtain a Forklift operator's licence
- Valid G Driver's license and a clean abstract
- Ability to work at heights and pass work at heights training
