Health Sciences North (HSN) is seeking an innovative leader for the Full-Time Permanent position of **Supervisor, Emergency Preparedness and Security Services** to provide leadership in the day-to-day operations of the Security Services and develop, plan, implement, and evaluate security and parking-related activities for HSN.

HSN participates in the Healthcare of Ontario Pension Plan (HOOPP). **KEY FUNCTION**:
Provide leadership in the day-to-day operations of the Security Services and develop, plan, implement, and evaluate security and parking-related activities for HSN.

**REPORTING**:
Under the general direction of the Manager, Emergency Preparedness and Security Services.

**DUTIES**:

- Act as a first point-of-contact for contracted security services.
- Develop, organize, monitor, and improve new or existing activities to ensure continuous process improvement in the areas of security compliance and service excellence.
- Organize, coordinate, and schedule the daily activities of the Security staff.
- Ensure all security staff are trained, follow standard operating procedures and participate in compliance reviews and follow up.
- Support key human resources functions including: recruitment, selection and delivery of training.
- Assist with budget development and monitoring.
- Coordinate, monitor, and adjust security’s overarching emergency responses activities to support staff, patients, and visitors of HSN.
- Work collaboratively with the Emergency Preparedness Advisor and play a key role in planning and evaluating disaster exercises.
- Evaluate HSN’s new parking system to seek improvements for visitor and staff access and safety; develop countermeasures related to revenue loss.
- Develop and maintain electronic systems to collect, track, and report on key metrics; assist with the monitoring and adjusting of processes related to life safety systems, parking management, and client service delivery.
- Work collaboratively with the Building Services Supervisor team as it relates to critical infrastructure, physical plants, and life safety systems and processes to implement strategies and minimize risk.
- Work collaboratively with the Manager of Emergency Preparedness and Manager of IT Security and Infrastructure in specialized project management work and investigations.
- Determine and align improvement projects with HSN’s Strategic Plan; monitor and adjust to achieve goal outcomes.
- Oversee the work of others in compliance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHSA), its regulations, and HSN policies.
- Participate in the accreditation process and work to ensure that the program and HSN achieve, maintain and continually improve upon their accredited status.
- Teach, coach and lead staff in the development and monitoring of quality indicators and improvement initiatives.
- Engage in and foster professional development of all staff and provide opportunities for learning within budgeted resources.
