**Purpose**:
Reporting to the Operations Manager, the Supervisor, Transportation Milk Hauling is accountable for the management, leadership, operation, and administration of the Bulk Hauling Department. This department will look after all transportation/scheduling of liquid product arriving and exiting the plant, fleet maintenance activities, procurement of fleet vehicles and parts, inventory control, driver training programs, and accident investigations. Other duties may be required.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Collaborate with internal and external customers to perform day to day scheduling of interplant shipments; Adapting to last minute changes including the addition and cancelation of loads
- Scheduling drivers and routes for bovine and goat milk pick-up in accordance with Ministry of Transportation limits, DFO, OMTA and Dairy Goat hauling protocols
- Manage budget and report on all transportation costs; Monitor and plan daily activities maximizing efficiency and cost-effective practices; Identify and execute cost-saving project opportunities
- Promote safe work activities, both at the shop and on the road, by conducting safety audits, attending company safety meetings and meeting with individual staff members
- Manage bi-weekly payroll for all drivers including scheduling, timesheet authorization and vacation planning
- Prepare and deliver training and presentations for orientations and/or tailgate talks as per department requirements
- Work with co-supervisor to train and coach employees; plan and execute the performance review and performance management process
- Schedule and arrange all fleet maintenance. Maintain records relating to the movement and costs of the company fleet and expenses. Review and approve of all invoicing on fleet maintenance
- Oversee leasing contracts to ensure licensing is current, arrange for substitute equipment as required; Engage in pricing reviews
- Investigate incidents and where necessary, file claims against carriers for damages, lost product, etc., maintaining and following up on all claims
- Create transfer orders and ensure all required paperwork is prepared for product shipping
- Keep all drivers’ logbooks and run sheets on file. Report any discrepancies on driver paperwork
- Assist in loading and offloading of trucks if needed
- Food Safety & Quality responsibility as outlined in SOPs & other training materials provided and accurate record keeping

**Qualifications**:

- Minimum of five (5) years of supervisory experience supervising in a commercial fleet environment or related industry deemed equivalent.
- Experience in the food industry, preferably dairy is not required but considered a strong asset
- Valid Ontario Driver’s License
- "AZ" classification: “A” licence, "Z" Airbrake Endorsement
- Knowledge of GMPs, including excellent sanitary habits and possess knowledge of HACCP is not required but considered an asset
- Good communication skills, including written and verbal
- Accurate when working with calculations
- Superior organizational skills with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities on a daily basis.
- Must be comfortable to oversee 30-40 drivers at any given time
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment
- Must be flexible in terms of shift work and perform other duties as required
- Proficient in Microsoft office (Power Point, Excel, Word, Outlook) would be an asset
