**Child Minder - Casual**
**Flexible availability to cover the following shifts as needed**:
**Weekdays from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm**
**Position Summary**:
Child minder provides support and direct care to children under six, including special needs children or
infants/toddlers to provide activities while parent/caregiver is attending a program onsite.

**Qualifications**:
**_Education, Training and Experience:_***
- Grade 12
- Responsible Adult Certificate
- Valid First Aid Level C is required
- No experience required

**Key Duties and Responsibilities**:

- Monitoring and engaging with children in indoor activities while parent/caregiver is attending a program

onsite.
- Assist in preparation, set up, and clean up with groups as required
- Conducts activities with children in structured and unstructured play.
- Attends to children’s physical needs, which may include diapering, toileting, and eating.
- Help maintain a clean, safe and fun experience for each child.
- Maintains records, reports problems or concerns to senior staff.
- Keeps program facilities and equipment safe and clean, reporting any repairs and concerns to senior staff.
- Adhere to the attached program procedures.
- Performs other related duties as required.**
**General: -**
Wage rate as per BCGEU Collective Agreement, Grid 4 - Unique Points 303 - $21.22
- This position requires Union membership.
- This position is open to all persons.
- This position requires successful completion of a criminal record check.
- This position reports to the Training and Development Coordinator.
