Your Opportunity:
Under the direction of Public Health (PH) Management, the Instructor - Clinical Educator Breastfeeding/Maternal Child (CE BMC), leads the planning, co-ordination, implementation, and evaluation of educational activities for designated health care staff that support breastfeeding families. The CE-BMC works in collaboration with the Best Practice Coordinator-Maternal Child (BPC-MC) to support clinical competencies and organizational standards/practices/guidelines. The CE-BMC promotes clinical competence of nursing staff by developing and delivering education related to mandatory education and revisions to practice support documents, policies and procedures. The CE-BMC determines education based on identified needs including orientation of staff, continuing competencies, quality improvement, and strategic plans. The CE-BMC will engage the Program Evaluation Team to manage ongoing quality improvement and data management to ensure that these approaches and actions lead to measurable improvement in health care services and health status of targeted patient groups. The CE-BMC functions as a change agent and resource for staff. The CE-BMC collaborates at the zone and provincial level and represents CenZ on the Provincial Breastfeeding Committee. The CE-BMC will utilize diversity and health equity approaches to close gaps in population health outcomes: equity by providing leadership to create an enabling environment that supports all families to meet their infant feeding goals; diversity by employing population health approaches to address the needs of priority populations and families who are most underserved or at major risk.
