The LDB is one of two branches of government responsible for the cannabis and liquor industry of B.C. We operate the wholesale distribution of beverage alcohol and non-medical cannabis within the province, as well as the household retail brands of BC Liquor Stores and BC Cannabis Stores.

Corporate Strategic Services (CSS) plays a critical role in supporting the entire organization. Comprised of Corporate Communications and Stakeholder Relations, Policy and Information, Privacy and Access Services, Sourcing and Vendor Performance, Strategy & Business Transformation and the Project Management Office, CSS is driven by customer-service and taking action to advise, consult and support each business area throughout the LDB.

The CSS team is comprised of approximately 50 staff. What brings CSS together as a team is the ability to work together to support both the operational areas of the business and other support areas (e.g. Corporate Operations, Finance, Human Resources, Information Technology). The group has a strategic lens with a focus on ensuring the organization aligns and complies with corporate priorities, policies, legislation, best practices, and government mandate.

**About this role**:
The Social and Environmental Impact Specialist (SEIS) is responsible for managing and coordinating activities related to the LDB’s social impact strategy and environmental initiatives This position supports social impact and sustainability objectives and furthers the LDB’s brand recognition by developing, coordinating and implementing plans and programs related to the impact strategy.

Supported by the Manager of Corporate Social Impact and the Manager of Environmental Initiatives, the SEIS collaborates with colleagues, internal and external stakeholders to conduct research and analysis of business operations, trouble shoot projects and prepares business cases to determine options and recommendations related to social impact and environmental initiatives.

The SEIS applies environmental expertise and experience in environmental management, recycling and waste reduction activities to contribute to business improvement projects, employee education programs and greenhouse gas emission tracking and reporting.

**Position requirements**:
**Education and Experience**:
A minimum of two (2) years of recent, related experience* is required.
- Recent, related experience must have occurred in the last five (5) years and must include the following:

- Working closely with internal and external stakeholders to identify operational improvements.
- Supporting the implementation of new business processes, initiatives and/or technology solutions.
- Degree or diploma in social sciences or environmental management program.
- A minimum of six (6) months experience:

- Leading data tracking and reporting projects (e.g., greenhouse gas emissions, diversion rate analysis and social impact KPI metrics).

OR
- Coordinating and supporting internal and external projects and initiatives (e.g., a corporate social impact program, zero waste activities, circular economy, recycling, and biodiversity education).
