**Youth Services Assistant**
**Casual Position - 7.5 hours per week**
**Commencing: May 15, 2023 to June 2024**
**Multiple Sites (primarily Guelph and Waterloo)**
**May include evenings and weekends**

**Duties & Responsibilities**:

- Participate in program planning, development, and evaluation of Youth Services
- Connect with other KidsAbility service areas and community-based groups/services to provide youth perspective
- Assist with the creation of a recruitment strategy for Youth Services programs and initiatives
- Work with Youth Engagement Lead and Transition Lead to support youth accessing KidsAbility services
- Initiate and facilitate conversations with clients which may include sharing personal experiences
- Work independently and as part of the Youth Services Team
- Collaborate with team members in a multi-disciplinary environment providing client-centered care
- Communicate effectively with clients, families, and colleagues
- Participate in professional and organizational initiatives supporting quality management and research

**Qualifications**:

- Post-Secondary Diploma or Degree (or actively working towards with minimum 1 year completed)
- Experience with children and youth who have a variety of physical, developmental, and communication disorders
- Past participation as a KAYAC member is an asset
- Fun and Creative
- Strong organizational and time management skills; creative problem-solving skills
- Effective communication skills, both written and oral; including the ability to communicate well in groups and individually, and respectful of client’s rights to confidentiality
- Computer proficiency including Word, Excel, Outlook, internet, and familiarity with social networking tools
- Travel to Guelph and Waterloo, with outreach to other sites as required. You must have access to a reliable vehicle with public liability/property damage coverage.
- Ability to work evenings and weekends as required
