**ONCOLOGY CLERK**

**(REGULAR PART TIME)**

A regular part time Oncology Clerk position is available at the Louise Marshall Hospital site of North Wellington Health Care.

This position is unionized with OPSEU, Local 226.

**RESPONSIBILITIES**:
This position provides administrative and clerical assistance to the Registered Nurse and Physician working in the Oncology unit. They ensure that all inquiries and tasks are completed to the highest standard, while working in a collaborative team.
- Providing R.N. or physician with requested documents, reports and responding to other requests as indicated
- Booking appointments both internal and external to facility within oncology protocol time windows
- Answering telephone and faxing
- Order entry of tests and diagnostics
- Clerical duties including (but not limited to) organizing of patient information, word processing, filing, chart retrieval/organization, requisition completion, statistical compliance, excel spreadsheets (data entry/organizing data), photocopying and compiling of take home educational materials for patients
- Additional duties as required

**QUALIFICATIONS**:

- Minimum Grade 12 Education
- Excellent clerical proficiency: reception, filing etc
- Excellent computer proficiency specifically Excel, Outlook, Word, basic Graphic Design for educational materials
- Medical Terminology course or willingness to obtain within a specified time frame
- Previous experience using Meditech - Admissions/Registration, Order Entry, PCI
- Clinical Connect access preferred
- Exceptional communication/public relations skills
- Positive and cheerful attitude essential
- Excellent organizational and time management skills with an ability to prioritize effectively and multi-task
- Detail oriented; able to work under pressure and meet deadlines; team player
- Effective problem solver with demonstrated critical thinking skills
- Ability to maintain confidentially
- Must meet criteria for Privacy training from Grand River Regional Cancer Centre

**ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS**:

- Satisfactory performance and attendance required
- Satisfactory Reference Checks required prior to start date
- Must provide a Police Vulnerable Sector Check
- Must complete a Pre-Employment Health Assessment including providing proof of full COVID vaccination prior to being hired

**HOURS OF WORK**:

- As per Collective Agreement

**SALARY**: $23.08 - $23.86
