**Overview**

SMS Security is a mid-sized security systems company seeking Fire Alarm Technician to join our growing Technician team. A successful Fire Alarm Technician is someone who is qualified and trained to install and maintain the fire alarm systems in residential and business settings. Excellent communication skills, knowledge of safety codes and regulations and experience with alarm systems is key for success in this role.

**Responsibilities and Duties**:

- Install or upgrade fire alarm systems in high rise and low rise commercial, and residential buildings
- Assisting and performing the annual fire alarm inspections
- Program Fire Alarm Panels
- Provide detailed service and inspection reports in a timely manner
- Troubleshooting the fire alarm and safety devices related issues
- Test and repair alarm systems already in place
- Respond to emergency service calls
- Pull cable and conduit
- Maintain a clean and safe workspace

**Requirements and Qualifications**:

- 3-5 years of experience with commercial and residential systems
- Troubleshooting skills
- Ability to work on ladders and lift up to 50 lbs.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
- Knowledge of power tools.
- Comfortable working in all elements - some projects are outside or in underground parking garages.
- Can work evenings and weekends if needed.

**Good to have**:

- Experience in DSC Alarm systems and ULC Inspections
- Ability to assist in the service and installation of Access Control, Telephone Entry Systems, Door Operators, Elevators, CCTV and IT is an advantage

**Pay Rate**:
$24-$28 per hour to start with opportunity for increases - consideration is taken for experience

**Supplemental pay types**:
