**Job Summary**:
The Program Assistant is responsible for assisting with the facilitation of programs, assisting with the delivery of food security programming, and helping to create resources for residents.

**Qualifications**:

- High school diploma or 2-3 years related experience in a community setting
- Related experience in a community setting and community programs.
- Experience working with children and youth in a community setting is a strong asset
- Experience working with diverse communities, and knowledge of related community resources
- Mobility Requirements: Physical capacity to lift, climb, and perform other physical tasks as needed with reasonable accommodation if required
- Fluency in English essential, fluency in other languages also desirable
- Valid First Aid and CPR (level C) required to obtain within 6 months of employment
- Vulnerable Sector Police Record Check required

**Job Specific Responsibilities**:

- Outreach activities to residents of Ottawa Community Housing neighborhoods
- Assist in implementing community-based programs for all age groups as assigned
- Provide information about community resources to community members
- Perform administrative duties related to the programs as delegated
- Participate as an active team member in staff meetings
- Support Community House Coordinators, Community Workers and volunteers
- Assist with the operation of food banks and food security programming as appropriate
- Other related duties as assigned
