**North End** **Animal Hospital** **is welcoming a** **dependable **Veterinary Technician Student** **for our summer externship Our summer position will improve you with invaluable insights into your future career. As a valued member of our team, you will develop practical and professional skills by working closely with our licensed doctors and technicians. You will be introduced to the inner workings of our hospitals while also gaining exposure and education in the veterinary field.
- Observe and participate where applicable with technical skills: venipuncture, IV placement, catheter, pain management and physical examinations
- Learn how patient files are electronically captured, updated and stored
- Exposure to varying cases requiring different support and skills
- Exposure to prescriptions and tracking of various medications
- Following learning requirements as provided by your program instructors

**Requirements**:

- Currently enrolled in a Veterinary Technician or Veterinary Assistant program from a recognized institution.
- Exceptional client service skills that build trust and loyalty
- Compassionate and nurturing attitude in providing care to clients and patients
- Work effectively as a team player
- Must be able to repeatedly lift at least 40 lbs
- Ability to remain calm and efficient in stressful situations
- Initiative in carrying out assignments independently
