Reporting to the Manager of Children and Youth, the Supervisor oversees the day-to-day operations of C&Y programs and the Building Leaders Out of Community Kids (B.L.O.C.K.) Project. The Supervisor will provide support and guidance to Youth Workers’, and Parent Support Workers’ day-to-day responsibilities including case management and client support.

**DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Provide leadership to the Building Leaders Out of Community Kids (B.L.O.C.K.) Project
- Work within the management team, with staff and community members, including youth and parents to ensure the effective coordination of program schedules and related events for youth and families.
- Support program development, evaluation and strategy for various C&Y programs and provide recommendations for improvements.
- Ensure there are appropriate resources for programs for day-to-day operations.
- Foster relationships among program partners, local schools, businesses, and other stakeholders and support the project’s outreach strategy to ensure there is a focus to reach out to “high risk” youth with an emphasis on Black, Brown and racialized youth within the community.
- Support the organization of workshops and training for youth 11-29 years of age.
- Provide guidance and support to Youth Workers, Family Support Workers and youth participants.
- Create systems to ensure youth can access resources in an equitable manner.
- Assist in completion and submission of all necessary reports for projects.
- Co-ordinate the collection of and maintain appropriate information for statistics and files (e.g., attendance, program outcomes)
- Meet regularly with manager to discuss individual, and team effectiveness.
- Represent the agency in the community and with program partners and participate in events, committees and work groups as required.
- Work under the guidance of the agency and program policies and procedures, including the Mission, Vision and Values of Dixon Hall.

**QUALIFICATIONS**
- Degree in Social Work, Social Sciences, or a College Diploma in Social Services.
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience working with children and youth in a community setting.
- Standard First Aid qualifications and certificate (an asset)
- Recent experience working with youth at risk in priority neighborhoods.
- Strong relationship management, leadership skills and experience in fostering a team approach to youth development.
- Demonstrated ability to build effective partnerships both internally and externally with service providers, parents and other stakeholders in a community setting.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, and verbal and written communication skills
- Proven ability to provide support and guidance to staff and participants.
- Knowledge of and experience providing crisis intervention and using counseling skills
- Strong understanding of Youth Justice System, child welfare system, mental health system, housing, education, and employment
- Ability to collaborate with other professionals in community agencies and government offices.
- Proficient writing skills for necessary documentation to funders, community, and other stakeholders.
- Possession of G Class License is an asset.
- Able to provide a “Clear” or satisfactory Vulnerable Sector Police Check as determined by the operational requirements of the program.
- Required to provide evidence of full vaccination against COVID-19 with a vaccine approved for use in Canada.
- MUST be qualified to work in Canada legally for the Employer.
