Responsibilities may include but not limited to:
**Job Duties**
- Coordinate asphalt operations and oversee employees at construction sites. Communicate with asphalt plant, truck drivers and dispatch.
- Ability to read drawings, plans and blueprints
- Oversee paving crew and projects daily, accountable for establishing, monitoring, and maintaining efficient and safe operating procedures for all paving projects.
- Supervise the use of machinery and equipment
- Responsible for a team of 5-10 employees.
- Ensure manpower and resources are adequate
- Operate heavy equipment such as pavers, rollers, and skid steers to pave and maintain asphalt surfaces
- Assist in the construction of asphalt roads, parking lots, and driveways
- Perform routine maintenance on equipment to ensure proper functioning
- Follow safety guidelines and protocols to ensure a safe work environment
- Collaborate with team members to complete projects efficiently and effectively
- **This is a physically demanding job which requires working outdoors in all weather conditions. The applicant must be able to lift / carry heavy objects and do repetitive tasks.**_
**Requirements**:
- Possess a clean driver abstract
- Ability to work with mínimal supervision
- Minimum 5+ years experience
- In-depth knowledge of construction procedures, equipment
- Prioritize, delegate and perform all work placing safety first in all things.
- Positive attitude and presentation
- Ability to engage in physical labor on a daily basis
- Ability to work a flexible shift schedule
**Compensation**:
**Wages are competitive and based on knowledge, experience and qualifications.**
**Job Type: Full time**
Spreader Operator $31-37/HR
Finish Raker $29-34/HR
**Bonus Incentive for End of Season Performance.**
**Skills**:
- Pave: Proficient in laying asphalt surfaces using pavers and other equipment.
- Heavy equipment operation: Skilled in operating heavy machinery such as pavers, rollers, and skid steers.
- Build: Capable of assisting in the construction of asphalt roads, parking lots, and driveways.
**Salary**: $30.00-$37.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 - 65 per week
Flexible Language Requirement:
- French not required
