**Duties and Responsibilities**:

- Perform full-cycle payroll processing for the group of companies across multiple Canadian jurisdictions and corporate divisions in a timely and accurate manner. Including organizing and coordinating hourly and salary payroll by maintaining employee master records, completing timecard entries and timecard review, balancing data transferred between source systems and the payroll system, processing employee pay, and ensuring deposits are made to all employees.
- Ensure statutory compliance with source deductions, voluntary deductions, garnishment payments, third party demand, or support deductions, T4 processing, ROE processing, and WCB administration.
- Respond to employee inquiries related to payroll matters with compassion and care and resolve remuneration issues in a timely manner.
- Produce and validate various bi-weekly, monthly, and annual reports.
- Collaborate with the Human Resource department to maintain accurate and timely employee records and benefits administration.
- Remain current with statutory changes and be able to provide interpretations on various rules, regulations, laws, contracts, and policies and ensure all aspects of the payroll system follow federal, provincial/territorial legislation and corporate policies.
- Work with government agencies, benefit providers, and auditors to resolve problems, reconcile differences, and provide requested information.
- Develop and maintain user-friendly documentation regarding payroll procedures, guidelines, and processes necessary for reference and training materials.
- Record, track and report bi-weekly payroll errors and develop solutions to mitigate risks.
- Review payroll registers, reconcile payroll GL accounts, and prepare general journal entries.
- Administer the digital process of employee expense reimbursement, including maintaining master records, reconciling source documents to system data, reviewing expense submissions for consistency with the corporate purchasing policy, issuing timely payments to employees, and resolving discrepancies.

**Qualifications**:

- Post-secondary diploma or degree in business administration, accounting, or related field.
- Thrive in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- Experience working for a corporate centralized team that supports an organization structure with multiple entities and divisions and appreciates the nuance, complexity and value that this structure employs.
- 5+ years of payroll or accounting experience working in a similar organizational structure.
- Payroll Compliance Practitioner (PCP) or Certified Payroll Manager (CPM) designation is considered an asset.
- Experience with SAGE 300 ERP and Sage Canadian Payroll module is considered an asset.
- A team player, who understands the value of client service.
- Strong communication, collaboration, interpersonal, and team skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality by protecting information, respecting privacy, and exercising sound judgment.
