Purpose of Role: The Product Engineer-in-Training will be joining our Surrey BC spool fabrication and rubber lining team. This is a critical role, supporting a growing business supplying both the Oil Sands and Hard Rock Mining industries. Our plant is the leader in rubber lined products including lined pipe from 2” to 60” and large diameter, and high pressure engineered slurry hoses. Our engineering team is small but has a strong reputation with our customers which has been built on years of successful brownfield and greenfield specialty rubber projects.

Key Responsibilities:

- Focus Area: Supporting Senior Application and Project Engineers as needed for time-critical tasks
- Focus Area: Daily exposure to live manufacturing shop environment. Develop understanding of steel fabrication processes, rubber lining processes and how composite body pressure retaining products are manufactured
- Focus Area: Evaluate current product designs and manufacturing processes, lead improvement projects
- Safety First: Demonstrate 100% commitment to our zero harm behaviors in support of our drive towards developing a world class safety culture.

Job Knowledge/Education and Qualifications:

- Bachelor’s Degree (Mechanical Engineering)
- CO-OP or 1-2 years of experience
- Desire to obtain P.Eng status and register as EIT
- Experience with SAP, or other Enterprise Resource Planning system would be considered an asset but is not required.
