our new təməsew̓txʷ Aquatic and Community Centre will embody this vision and has gained recognition as the first aquatic centre
in Canada to achieve the Canadian Green Building Council Zero Carbon Building standard For 40 years, New Westminster aquatics
has been a leader and innovator in building and providing effective swimming programs, including one of the largest swim
programs in Canada; “Breaking Waves Learn to Swim Program”. We are seeking qualified, enthusiastic, energetic, and reliable
swimming instructors to join our team for the 2023 Outdoor Pool season (April 22-October 1) and our new təməsew̓txʷ Aquatic
and Community Centre facility in early 2024.

**TRAINING AND CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS**:
CPR “C” level or Standard First Aid, current within 1 year of last certification

Swim and Lifesaving Instructor (formerly Red Cross Water Safety Instructor), current within 2 years of last certification

Bronze Cross certification
**AVAILABILITY REQUIREMENTS**:
You must be available for training and in-service on April 13th 4:30 - 8:30 pm, April 14th 4:30 - 8:30 pm, April 15th 10 am - 2
pm, April 20th 4:30 - 8:30 pm, and April 21st 4:30 - 8:30 pm.

**GENERAL REQUIREMENTS**:
Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with staff and build pleasant and courteous public relations
with facility patrons.

Ability to remain alert and professional while on duty.

Ability to work in a fast paced environment.

Ability to prepare and maintain high quality lessons and lesson plans.

Ability to ensure all required awards and certifications remain current.

Eligible to work in Canada.

Must be able to successfully pass and maintain a clear Police Information Check including Vulnerable Sector Check.
