Description
The New Product Introduction Generalist is responsible for being the first to process a new product in the secondary departments. He/she will also be responsible for developing best-in-class production process standards based on industry best practices and a high level of soft skills by developing and supporting our process standards database (VKS). He will also be the technical link between operations and engineering for the entire INP cycle, providing essential feedback on designs and opportunities for improvement. The INP Generalist will also collaborate with INP specialists to meet the needs and technical requirements of rapid prototypes.
Role and Responsibilities
**Process development**:
- Develop best pemsert, metal grinding, masking and assembly processes based on industry best practices.
- Document the processes developed in the production standard (VKS).
- Acquire best techniques through investigations, research with suppliers or visits.
- Support other processes to develop best practices and constantly acquire new knowledge.
- Train and support the production member in the best practice process developed.
**Introducing a new product**:
- Execute the process developed for all NPIs.
- Acquire product requirements in collaboration with PLM and/or attend product review meetings.
- Correct manufacturing feedback and opportunity areas to engineering and customer via PLM.
- Follow and respect pre-determined schedule.
- Evaluate standard time estimates and their validity.
- Support the resolution of issues raised throughout the INP cycle.
- Support production for production peaks.
**Rapid prototyping**:
- Execute the process for all rapid prototypes (pemsert, meta-mix, masking, assembly).
- Participate in maintaining an aggressive schedule.
- Support problem solving throughout the rapid prototype cycle.
Prerequisites
- Minimum 2 years' experience in a technical role
- Strong motivation to succeed
- Work closely with product line managers
- Willingness to take on new challenges and learn new things
- Reliability and integrity, dedicated to the task
- Level of supervision required: mínimal
- fluently bilingual
- Knowledge of BAAN4 (MK) an asset
