Position Information

**Position Title**
- Arts Centre Audiovisual Technician**Position Summary**
- The Arts Centre AV Technician provides and/or facilitates technical services for the Division of Ancillary and Sport Services event venues on an as-needed basis. Duties will include (but not be limited to) systems installation, on-deck running crew, live technician engineer, system set-ups, light-duty audio recording and/or editing.**Position Responsibilities**

**Set up and Strike AV Technical Systems for Various Events**
- Set up and strike technical equipment as per event details - Ensure all technical equipment is working properly
- Troubleshoot equipment as necessary
- On the fly, repair and maintain equipment as required - Return all technical equipment properly and to their areas of safe storage **Live Technical Engineer for Various Events**
- Use available resources to work with the client to fulfill their technical vision of their event/production
- On-deck running crew
- Technical systems engineer - Light-duty audio, video and lighting execution during events**Equipment and Systems Installation and Maintenance**
- Install or assist with the installation of new technical systems and equipment
- Repurpose technical systems and equipment. This includes communications systems and equipment as well as computer and network associated systems and equipment
- Perform minor equipment maintenance

**Other Duties as Required**
- During peak periods and/or unexpected absences, the Arts Centre AV Technician will be trained to provide coverage for other positions as determined by the Director, Ancillary and Sport Services, Manager, Conference and Accommodation Services and Supervisor.
- Other tasks or projects as directed/requested by the Director of Ancillary & Sport Services, Manager, Conference & Accommodations and direct supervisor
- Other related duties as assigned

**Required Qualifications**
- Completion of a 1-year college certificate, one year University or equivalent.**Preferred Qualifications**
- Two (2) years of post-secondary training in Technical Theatre Diploma or Production for Live Events Diploma**Salary or Hourly?**
