Cashier/clerk

The Cashier/Clerk will be responsible for providing information, assistance and customer service in a manner that will promote the sale of merchandise and meet or exceed customer requirements and expectations.
- Come to work with a positive and professional approach and attitude
- Be dependable for all scheduled shifts
- Maintain a good understanding of till operation and provide a neat, clean and well-merchandised front-end at all times
- Operate the point of sale (“**POS**”) terminal as required and to the expected standard
- Prepare cash reconciliations as required
- Provide information, assistance and customer service in a manner that will promote the sale of merchandise and meet or exceed customer requirements and expectations
- Ensure the “Care Commitment” Program is followed
- Perform general housekeeping and maintenance duties
- Ensure a neat, clean and well-merchandised department
- Stock shelves and display merchandise as directed by Management
- Receive merchandise as directed
- Adhere to all Dawson Co-operative Union policies and procedures
- Adhere to all Dawson Co-operative Union health and safety standards
- Plan for self-development and take initiative to improve own knowledge, skills and abilities
- Other duties as assigned

- Willing to learn
- Experience working in sales or customer service is an asset
- Reliable and responsible
- Excellent customer service
- Ability to be friendly and outgoing
- Emerging ability to manage relationships at all levels
- Accuracy and attention to detail
