Along with our baked goods, we offer single-origin espresso beverages and that's where you come in This is a permanent, full-time position (avg. 30-35 hours/week). This position is not temporary or casual.

**Job description**

This position reports to the owner(s)/manager(s) and has direct responsibility of ensuring all beverages crafted and service provided are performed with attention to the highest
standards of excellence and implementing best practices set forth by the owner(s) as
well as other duties, which include but are not limited to:

- Opening and closing the café, ensuring security procedures are fully observed
- Learning the full range of tasks associated with the smooth operation of the café and undertake any such tasks
- Accurately grinding beans, pulling shots of espresso, brewing tea, and preparing other beverages according to brew recipes provided
- Learning about brewing methods, beverage recipes, and presentation techniques to improve food quality
- Calibrating the espresso grinder as needed (and knowing when to do that)
- Welcoming customers, answering questions, and accepting orders and payments
- Scooping cookie doughs; baking cookies, hand pies, and madeleines daily
- Assembling and packaging food and beverages for sale
- Cleaning and restocking work areas, emptying the garbage and compost, and cleaning and sanitizing equipment and utensils
- Taking inventory and replenishing items in display cases and behind the counter
- Effectively communicating needs of café (product stock, equipment repair, etc.) and all relevant issues or general concerns to manager(s)/owner(s)
- Ensuring sufficient stock is maintained to meet demand, stock awaiting sale is kept at optimum condition, and wastage is minimized
- Ensuring that all item library and register pricing updates are made on a weekly basis with additional updates made as needed (in collaboration with BOH supervisor/owner)
- Ensuring all machinery related to espresso production is in good working order and maintained on a regular basis
- Supporting the development of the espresso bar menu
- Providing guidance, training, and support to other team members for various tasks to ensure a high standard of excellence is maintained and all established procedures are followed
- Carrying out the role in a manner that ensures all activities undertaken fully reflect the vision, values, and standards of LenJo Bakes Inc.
- Working as a part of a fun, high-energy team and fostering an inclusive, passionate, and welcoming environment to help team members constantly grow and improve
- Adhering to all food safety regulations and quality controls
- Maintaining an effective - positive, amicable, upbeat and “smile first” -- customer service orientation

**Requirements**:

- Excellent attention to detail
- Excellent organizational, time-management, interpersonal and analytical skills
- Clear and effective communication style, both written and oral.
- Good judgment and decision-making abilities while communicating with customers and team members
- Ability to learn manual and automated systems/tools
- Skilled at working in a fast-paced environment while maintaining priorities and a high level of performance
- Ability to walk, bend, and stand for extended periods of time
- Ability to carry light loads up and down a flight of stairs
- A polite, engaging personality
- Commitment to customer satisfaction and service excellence

**Education**
- High school diploma or equivalent is **required**:

- Experience (at least **2 years**) on a semi-automatic espresso machine with traditional milk foaming skill is **required**:

- Experience in food and beverage preparation or customer service is **required**:

- Experience supervising a team of at least 2 people for a duration of 6 months is preferred
- Food Handler Certificate is required

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

**Salary**: $17.50-$19.00 per hour
