**Role Responsibilities**:
The Ministry of Labour and Immigration is looking for a strategic leader with investigations and supervisory experience to join Occupational Health and Safety Program Delivery within the Safe, Fair and Healthy Workplaces Division as the Manager of the Special Investigations Unit (SIU).

Reporting to the Director of Investigations, the SIU Manager will lead a team of professionals responsible for all non-incident related investigations under Alberta’s Occupational Health and Safety legislation. This position is responsible for a team of Lead Investigators, Disciplinary Action Investigators, Technical Advisors, Team Leads, and an Investigations Assistant, with oversight of Disciplinary Action Complaints, Investigation Resolutions and non-incident related investigations taking place across the province including chronic or egregious non-compliance and human trafficking.

The Investigations Manager liaises with internal and external stakeholders including staff, OHS Compliance, other enforcement agencies, the Alberta Labor Relations Board and Specialized Prosecutions with the Ministry of Justice where charges under the Occupational Health and Safety Act are pursued.
- Expertise regarding a full range of investigative and regulatory enforcement functions including adjudication, scene and evidence management, taking statements and recommendation for prosecutions.
- Demonstrated supervisory or management experience and excellent change management, coaching and mentorship capability.
- Experience with building new programs and operational policy.
- Exceptional relationship-building and communications skills, including: excellent listening, writing and organizational skills.
