RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
The Women's Residential Treatment program is one of Ontario's leading residential treatment programs for women with severe substance use issues. This position involves the provision of direct counselling services to women admitted to a three week program; provision of group counselling services, including psychoeducational groups, skills groups and process oriented groups; provision of goal-oriented individual counselling; and participation in ongoing program development activities.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's Degree in Social Sciences;
- 3-5 years of experience in a counselling role, able to facilitate various group modalities independently;
- Demonstrated experience in assessment, referral, case management and counselling with women substance abusers;
- Significant experience in provision of group and individual counselling services to women using a variety of modalities including psychoeducational and process-oriented;
- Sound knowledge of women's core issues;
- Sound knowledge of current models of addiction treatment, best practices and feminist models of counselling;
- Experience with providing treatment to concurrent disorders population;
- Commitment to engaging in program development;
- Exceptional interpersonal, communication, time management and organizational skills;
- Demonstrated ability to work closely with the community;
- Ability to recognize and diffuse escalating or potentially violent clients;
- Proven ability to work well in a high demand environment;
- Excellent crisis intervention skills;
- Knowledge of community resources and provincial addiction system;
- Commitment to client focused philosophy of care;
- Proven excellence in program development;
- Experience working within a multidisciplinary team;
- Willingness to be clinically supervised and undergo ongoing professional development.
- Must have satisfactory performance record;

- Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to Lakeridge Health's comprehensive safety programs and practices including staff, patient and environmental safety and participation in regular in-services in this area; and;
- Proven good attendance record with capability of maintaining this same standard;
**CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT**:
The terms and conditions of employment are in accordance with the Collective Agreement between the Hospital and OPSEU Local 348.
Successful applicants must provide a satisfactory Criminal Investigation Reference for the vulnerable sector, dated within the past six (6) months.
