The Abbotsford Community School is looking for fun and motivated individuals to join their instructing team. We are looking for program instructors who will lead Soccer Programs for children & youth. This posting is for a Soccer Program Instructor.

What is a community school?

It is a designated school facility that is open beyond the traditional school schedule to offer a variety of community learning and recreational opportunities to people of all ages. Community schools are multi-service facilities working in partnership with other community agencies, organizations and individuals to improve the quality of life in the community. Our Community school will be running classes out of schools in Abbotsford and are such as but not limited to, Abbotsford Senior Secondary School, Abbotsford Middle School, Eugene Reimer Middle School, Chief Dan George Middle School, Dormick Park Elementary, Alexander Elementary School, Matsqui Elementary, Ross Elementary, Godson Elementary, Prince Charles Elementary, Clearbrook Elementary, Ten-Broeck Elementary, Terry Fox Elementary, Centennial Park Elementary, Harry Sayers Elementary, Dave Kandal Elementary and Auguston Elementary, and Aberdeen Elementary.

We are currently hiring for a Soccer Program Instructor.

Applicants will be required to complete a Criminal Record Check. Current First Aid is an asset. Compensation is based on experience and programs that are being led. Compensation for successful applicants starts at $16.00 per hour for this program.

The Abby Community School Society Soccer Program emphasizes skill development, fair play, teamwork, cooperation, sportsmanship, responsibility, and fun. Each participant should be provided the opportunity to play in every game and play different positions on the field/court. Hours for this position will range from 4 - 10 hours per week.

**Qualifications**:

- Have a desire to work with children, enthusiasm, patience, organization, maturity, dependability, and be responsible.
- Be 18 years old and have a high school diploma.
- Be available at the times when the program is run (may vary Mon - Thurs, 2:15pm - 4:15pm or 2:45pm - 4:45pm)
- Strong communication and facilitation skill
- Have at least 2 years of experience teaching or playing soccer
- Take interest in physical education and understand the rules and gameplay of soccer adequately.

**Requirements**:

- Regular attendance at each program.
- Communicate program progression to your Supervisor/Program Coordinator
- Zero tolerance for offensive, insulting or abusive language or behavior or physical threats by players or parents.

**Role and Responsibilities**:

- Teach fundamental skills to the children while emphasizing skill development, fair play, teamwork, sportsmanship, and fun.
- Be consistent, patient, and kind to your co-workers, students, and parents.

**Job Types**: Part-time, Fixed term contract, Casual
Contract length: 12 months
Part-time hours: 4-10 per week

**Salary**: From $16.00 per hour
