PRIME WORKER [Full-time]

St. Leonard’s is seeking a Prime Worker commencing April 1.2024.

As a Prime Worker you will be responsible for overseeing youth in care which includes, Case management, Intake, discharge, file management, programming and supporting other Prime Workers to ensure the residential program runs efficiently.

About Us

Stemming from the amalgamation of two long standing organizations in 2020, St. Leonard’s Community Support, Prevention and Residential Services (SLCSPRS) continues to provide a broad spectrum of care from prevention to intervention within Hastings and Prince Edward Counties. We aspire to assist and enable youth and young adults who are, or at risk of being, in conflict with the law to build their life skills, increase their understanding and empathy, and to restore their self confidence and self-worth though effective, responsive, and accessible programs. Our staff work to support youth development to help them grow into the best versions of themselves. Our key programs include Youthreach, Extrajudicial Measures, Extrajudicial Sanctions, Youth Justice Committee, Attendance Centre, Reintegration Support, and Detention and Custody (males aged 12-17 years).

Key Responsibilities

1. Basic knowledge of developmental needs (intellectual, emotional, physical, and social) of Young Persons in care.

2. Experience with and competence in the realm of group work.

3. Appreciation for the Young Persons’ need for stability and consistent care from adults.

4. Demonstrated skills in direct relations to the function/task at hand.

5. Ability to relate appropriately to Young Persons as well as to the families of each individual.

6. Ability to write legible, clear, and concise reports

8. Demonstrate maturity and reliability at all times.

**Qualifications**:

- Child and Youth Worker/Corrections Diploma or a Bachelor of Arts in a related field, with related work experience.
- Certification in CPR and First Aid are mandatory.
- CPIC/VSS mandatory
- Valid Class G Driver’s License
- Training in Restraints mandatory. (UMAB)
- Updated Immunization record and “letter of fitness” to work rotating shifts Salary Range
