**Job Summary**:The Quality Control Chemist will generate accurate test results for the raw materials, in process, bulk and finished goods while following GMP requirements. The Quality Control chemist must ensure that all raw material is sampled, analyzed, tested and inspected in accordance with MPL procedures to ensure Quality Control requirements are met under mínimal supervision.
**Responsibilities**:
- Analyzes cannabis-based in-process, bulk, finished goods, and stability samples by HPLC analysis
- Troubleshoot HPLC instrument issues if required
- Work in accordance with established GMP, safety, and internal SOP requirements
- Interprets data and adheres to strict guidelines on documentation when recording data in accordance with the principles of GxP and Data Integrity
- Accurately records data and results in compliance with appropriate quality standards in a timely manner and in accordance with the principles of GxP and Data Integrity
- Verifies data, protocols and reports
- Supports in-process production by confirming required specifications, conducting visual and analytical tests, and communicates required adjustments to the QC Manager
- Approves all finished product test results by confirming specifications and conducting required tests
- Document and update inspection results by completing reports and logs
- Preventative Maintenance - keep measurement equipment operating by following standard operating instructions and calling for repairs and completing necessary documentation
- Provide timely and accurate information, reports and documentation as required
**Skills & Qualifications**:
- Minimum of Bachelor of Science degree (B.Sc.) in Chemistry
- Minimum of 3 years experience in analytical testing of raw material and/or finished goods in a GxP environment
- A highly level of integrity, attention to detail and work ethic
- Experience in technical writing (SOPs, protocols, test methods)
- Excellent time management skills, with the ability to work under mínimal supervision
- Competent data analysis and data management skills
- Experience in OOL/OOS/OOT (out of limit/specification/trend) investigation
- Knowledge of GC (Gas chromatography) and HPLC (High performance liquid chromatography) and other analytical, wet chemistry and general laboratory techniques
- Strong computer skills (MS Office and Excel), and communication skills
- Skill in troubleshooting, diagnosing and resolving issues with analytical instrumentation
- Experience in test method development, optimization and validation, writing and/or executing laboratory instrument qualifications, and with Mass Spectrometry (MS) is an asset
