**The Role**:
The Family Time Support Worker (FTSW) provides support to marginalized children and families who have Children’s Services involvement. This includes a significant proportion of First Nations, Metis and Inuit families, as well as, Refugee and first-generation Canadian families that have experienced the impacts of trauma and multigenerational abuse and neglect. The FTSW supports family time between parents and their children in the community and in client homes. FTSWs are actively engaged in hand-over-hand teaching with a focus on supporting parent-child attachment, reinforcing parent’s strengths, and bolstering parenting skills by sharing content such as structure and routine, child development, play and positive discipline practices. FTSWs support parents and children to successfully enjoy their family time together. FTSWs often transport children to and from supported family time. Additionally, FTSWs may provide occasional childcare.

**Qualifications**:
Ø Students, Diploma or Degree in Human Services Field, or with related experience

Ø Experience working with Child & Family Services and CSD beneficial

Ø Experience working with families from diverse cultures, especially Indigenous families

Ø Proficient oral and written communication skills

**Mandatory Requirements**:
Ø Police Check and Child Welfare Intervention Record Check completed within the last 6 months

Ø Registration with a professional body, if eligible (such as RSW)

Ø ASIST Suicide Intervention Training and First Aid-Level C CPR, required within 3 months of start date

Ø Valid class 5 driver’s license, reliable vehicle for daily use and liability insurance, as well as a 5 year driver abstract

**Key Responsibilities**:
Ø Supporting family time between children and parents with Children’s Services involvement

Ø Objective completion of formal documentation

Ø Attend trainings and supervision meetings as required

**What to Expect**:
Ø _Training_ - comprehensive onboarding/orientation process which includes service specific training, and agency wide core training.

Ø _Feedback_ - a strong supervision model that provides regular formal and informal opportunities for feedback

**Compensation**:

- $19.39 per hour
- Mileage compensation
- Ongoing paid training
