**PRODUCTION SUPERINTENDENT**
**Oshawa Plant (Whitby, Ontario)**

We are seeking an experienced and results-driven Production Superintendent to work in a high-performance self-directed work team environment and partner with our management team to align our Production department initiatives and functions with the objectives of the business.

In this role you will be responsible for ensuring the plant is meeting and exceeding our customers’ expectations by producing the highest quality products in the safest and most efficient and effective manner.

**The Role**:
Your work will include, but not be limited to:

- Maintains quality standards based on customer requirements ensuring quality issues are escalated to appropriate individuals and any issues are corrected in a timely manner
- Assists Engineers in improving productivity with the goal of improving operational efficiency
- Monitors and assists in the elimination of scrap and waste while maintaining adherence to KPI’s
- Develops a high-performance team and culture of collaboration through education, training, coaching and teamwork
- Maintains a safe working environment by ensuring compliance with government regulations and company policies, educating employees on company safety practices and safe use of equipment and assisting supervisors in resolving any safety concerns in a timely manner
- Works safely, reporting hazards and unsafe conditions, and takes all reasonable measures to protect themselves, co-workers and direct reports
- Responsible for monitoring, tracking and authorizing leaves of absence and vacations while ensuring appropriate coverage within the shift
- Assists the supervisors in the administration of disciplinary measures in a fair and consistent manner to address/correct substandard performance
- Responsible for first step grievance responses
- Orders required tools and supplies for the production department
- Approves weekly payroll
- Addresses employees suggestions/concerns
- Recognizes and understands the requirements of our internal and external customers and is dedicated to establishing the highest industry standards for quality, value, service & technology
- Performs any other duties as required in pursuance to the function of this position or as directed.

**Your Qualifications**:

- 5-7 years experience in a Production Department preferably within the manufacturing/ automotive industry
- Post Secondary Education or Experiential Equivalency
- Supervisory experience preferably within a unionized environment
- Computer Skills: Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
- Ability to work in a team environment
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Planning and Organization skills
- Time management and prioritization skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities
- High attention to detail
- Problem solving skills.
