Material Kitter

**Tasks & Responsibilities**
- The Kitters primary task will be to uncrate, sort and validate the Material & Equipment supplied for each Miner Overhaul. The materials will then be kitted, by the scheduled work orders, at the laydown adjacent the Miner Overhaul Shop.
- The Kitters secondary task will be to will be to support the tracking and logging of material order statuses for the Miner overhaul Program, providing this information to the project manager via weekly report.
- The Kitters tertiary task will be to assist the Material Coordinators with all materials and equipment procured under the capital program.
- The Kitter will also provide support to the Material Expediator who works with all suppliers securing / confirming appropriate goods, obtaining lead times, and coordinating delivery.
- The Kitter will be responsible to liason with the Miner Overhaul KIT suppliers to arrange site delivery and warehouse receiving of all materials and equipment.
- The Kitter will support the Warehouse and Material Coordinators in the receiving of all Capital deliveries and complete inspections to confirm no damages during shipping.
- The Kitter will be responsible to coordinate lowering with the Shaft Department and underground transportation of the materials and equipment with the Material Coordinators.
- The Kitter will be responsible to uncrate, sort, and verify all materials and equipment are supplied for each Miner Overhaul. Any issues with the materials and equipment are to be highlighted to the Project Manager.
- The Kitter will be responsible to return all unused materials and equipment to the warehouse for restocking at the completion of each Miner Overhaul.
- The Kitter will be responsible to highlight any unused materials to the Planner and Project Manager so the KIT order lists can be updated.
- The Kitter will provide support the Material Coordinators to arrange all underground transportation of Capital material and equipment to the underground storage lockups.
- The Kitter will provide support to assist with the monitoring of supplier performance to maintain cost, schedule, scope and quality.
- The Kitter will perform all required regulatory compliance checks, job observations and actively participate in the safety program. They will ensure that safe work habits are enforced and instruct safe methods of doing work.
- The Kitter will ensure suppliers close any punch-list actions for their deliveries as they progress to completion.
- Continually brief Owner’s staff to communicate any potential issues or concerns
- Operating in a team-oriented environment, the Kitter is expected to participate in group activities, share thoughts and demonstrate active listening skills, while considering customer needs to provide the best service possible.
- Effectively report progress of activities to the owner and highlight any areas requiring support with recommendations of an action plan to address such deficiencies/ improvements.
- Keep peers informed on operations, particularly calling attention to changes, abnormalities and new problems as they arise. Establish and maintain effective two-way communication with employees.
- Evaluate, establish, and implement safe work practices that minimize hazard exposure to employees.
- Ensures that any rules or regulations contained in Owner Safety Manual, Policies and Procedures Manual, Mine Regulations, Occupational Health and Safety Act, Occupational Health and Safety Regulations or any rules posted by the Corporation on bulletin boards or in the work area are complied with by all employees.
- Must comply, administer and uphold all Company standards, policies and procedures pertaining to appropriate conduct for employees, including the Statement of Core Values and Code of Conduct; the Respect in the Workplace Policy; Safety, Health and Environment Policies; and any other applicable standards, policies and procedures as implemented and/or revised by the Company or by legislation.
- Maintain adequate standards relating to health, safety and personnel relations. Impose good housekeeping habits and maintain good housekeeping throughout the work area.

- Reading and understanding drawings, computer competence (MS Office Suite) and interpersonal communication skills are essential
