**Job Overview**

Reporting to the Aquatics & Recreation Manager, this person will be responsible for providing safe and effective supervision of members in and around the pool area, including prevention of accidents, performance of First Aid and water rescue, as well as to provide coaching to the various levels of The Boulevard Club Swim Team and Masters, with a focus on continuous team development.

**Specific duties would include, but are not limited to**:

- Performance of water rescue and first aid when necessary.
- Performs safe and effective supervision of the pools, splash pad and deck areas as per Club rules, regulations and policies and those rules and regulations of the Health Protection and Promotion Act, R.R.O. 1990, Regulation 565 Public Pools.
- Coaches swim team practices as assigned, creating workout sets for swimmers in both private coaching and team group coaching. Coaches child and youth swimmers ages 7-18 & masters swimmers ages 19+.
- Assist in organizing and running seasonal swim meets at The Boulevard Club
- Accompany any swim team members to off-site swim meets as required.
- Assist in developing and implementing competitive swim programming for the various levels of our growing swim team and Masters programs along with The Aquatics Coordinator and The Aquatics & Recreation Manager.
- Ensures practices are well organized and effectively taught following the swim team program standards and guidelines as set out by the Aquatics Coordinator and Aquatics & Recreation Manager. This includes starting and ending on time, screening of participants on first practice, following the criteria for each lesson as per the worksheet and appropriate feedback to members on an ongoing basis.

**Job Qualifications**:

- National Lifeguard (NL)
- Standard First Aid with CPR C
- LSS Swim Instructor
- LSS Lifesaving Instructor
- LSS Swim Coach Level 1 (preferred)
- Swim Ontario Foundation 101 Swim Coach (preferred)
- Post Secondary Swim Team Experience
