Job Summary:
**Your role**:

- Complete technical review of drawing submissions and provide recommendations for approval to the Supervisor, Technical Services
- Review and comment on all types of Street Occupancy permits for approval by the Supervisor.
- Keep detailed records of utility work and ensure utility partners are working within permits.
- Maintain records of all utility works for restoration, prepare documents for restoration contract, and act as Contract Administrator for utility restoration contract, under the supervision of the Supervisor.
- Complete field inspection and monitor utility contractor’s performance of plant installation by all utilities, ensuring that City policies, restrictions and other relevant regulations are adhered to.
- Represent the City as a liaison with the utility companies. Coordinate proposed municipal capital and development projects, along with private municipal engineering works with the utilities.
- Provide site inspection as required, on development site service installations to observe, provide technical support and recognize problems encountered on these projects.
- Review, prepare comments and recommend for approval to the Manager new/renewed Municipal Access Agreements for utilities.
- Lead, advise, provide comments and take minutes as required at the Public Utility Commission Committee (PUCC) meetings.
- Liaise with internal staff both within Engineering, with other City Departments, external agencies and consultants during the design and construction of projects.
- Respond to general and specific inquiries regarding projects from various stakeholders, including the general public, while providing good customer service and maintaining good service standards.
- Prepare and submit contractor evaluation forms.
- Prepare communication notices and participate in public meetings as necessary.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.

**Qualifications**:

- Must be certified or eligible for certification as a C.Tech by O.A.C.E.T.T.
- Demonstrated knowledge of Municipal Access Agreement regulations and various legislated requirements that govern the Utilities.
- Knowledge of relevant civil engineering, design estimating, procurement and inventory control practices.
- Must have excellent communication skills with the ability to communicate with all levels of staff and stakeholders effectively.
- Excellent interpersonal and conflict resolution skills
- Excellent time management and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple assignments in order to meet deadlines.
- Must be able to work effectively in a team environment.
- Must be flexible, having the ability to adapt to changing needs and a commitment to continuous improvement.
- Knowledge of the Occupational Health & Safety Act

**Rate**:
Rate: $35.65 - $43.80
