Rainy River Mine
Situated in beautiful northwestern Ontario, 65 km northwest of Fort Frances, the Rainy River Mine is an open pit, gold and silver producing, residential mine site.

The Rainy River Mine, located adjacent to the Ontario / Minnesota border is 65 Kilometers northwest of Fort Frances, Ontario and is situated half way between Winnipeg, Manitoba and Thunder Bay, Ontario The area is home to more than 130 species of birds and large populations of moose, black bear and deer. About The Role

**Schedule**: 7/7 - 12 hour day

**Position Reports To**: Electrical Superintendent

Position Overview

The Electrical Supervisor plays an integral part ensuring the mine operations is operated effectively and safely in day-to-day operations. This position works closely with the Electrical Superintendent to plan, organize, and control mill maintenance activities.

Key Responsibilities

Ensure all E&I work is done in a safe and environmentally sound manner.
Maintain compliance with corporate, governmental and site environmental and safety policies, procedures, and regulations. Create awareness of unsafe and/or environmentally harmful behavior.
Provide the leadership and direction necessary to ensure the operating integrity of the mine staying within the requirements of budgeted costs and production planned targets.
Effectively communicate and coordinate E&I activities with production departments to support construction, training and mine start up.
Direct activities of subordinates assigned to all phases of E&I used in the mining process. Set priorities and execute the safe and efficient deployment of personnel and equipment in all E&I activities.
Interpret specifications, blueprints and work orders to subordinates and assign duties.
Assist the maintenance planners with planning of specific tasks throughout the area of responsibilities.
Assist in diagnosing E&I malfunctions in all mining equipment.
Assist in budget development, cost analysis and contract administration.
Regularly tour and inspect the Mill areas to identify and address any health and safety, environmental, production, equipment, and employee issues.
Collaborate with the Mill Operations team, Mechanical team, and Contractors to efficiently execute site projects.
Engage and lead the E&I team in a Zero Harm, open communication, and continuous improvement culture.
Ensure employees have a clear understanding of work objectives and expectations of performance levels.
Ensure that direct reports are provided with the training required for their current tasks and future needs.
Ensure all incidents are reported, adequately investigated, and entered in INX in a timely manner.
Collaborate with HR for Employee Relations & Investigations.
Provide assistance to the HR team and ownership in the hiring of Mine employees.
Manage and enter leave and exceptions reporting & updating rosters.

**Qualifications**:
Possess an interprovincial trade qualification with 3-5 years’ experience as a supervisor in mill E&I or related industry with dual ticket in electrical and instrumentation being an asset.
B.S. in Electrical Engineering preferred.
Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook Access) along with knowledge of Delta V programming.
Familiarity with computerized maintenance systems such as SAP is essential.
Solid understanding and experience of gold milling practices and equipment capabilities an asset.
Must have knowledge and understanding of safe and efficient electrical practices, procedures, and regulations.
Good understanding and working knowledge of the applicable legislation and regulations for mines.
Well-developed planning, problem solving, decision making, interpersonal, communication and organization skills.
Work in a team environment to meet deadlines.
