**Skills and Responsibilities**:

- **Netezza appliance administration. Monitoring hardware of the appliance and networks connected to the appliance.**:

- Platform and firmware upgrade with assistance from IBM Support. Work with IBM Support to fix any hardware issues such as Disk failures, SPU failures, Network configuration issues, etc.
- **Hands on exp in backup and restore in same appliance and different appliances.**:

- Knowledge of Netezza internals, structures, and system tables.
- Good knowledge in Netezza migration from on-premises appliance to NPS.
- Good knowledge in NPS server.
- Knowledge in IBM Cloud pack Perform database backup and recovery task and data migration across environments.
- Creating Materialized Views & Providing Cross Netezza Database Access. Good knowledge in data modeling.
- Assist with Netezza SQL and scripting. Monitor Netezza events and event processing. Perform periodic "health check" on Netezza appliances and proactively tune the system.
- Work independently, while operating in a team environment - interacting with business users and developers and providing support.
- User and group administration in Netezza.
- Hands on exp in database security and privileges. Hands on exp in Linux administration and Shell scripting Hands on exp in Agility Bench, putty, Cognati pro, Tecta tools.
- Able to work in 24/7 shift model.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Fixed term contract

Schedule:

- 8 hour shift
- Monday to Friday

Ability to commute/relocate:

- Toronto, ON: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (preferred)

Work Location: Hybrid remote in Toronto, ON
