Surrey, Canada SK REHAB CLINIC LTD. Full time

SK Rehab Clinic LTD. is looking for an experienced Bookkeeper to maintain the financial records, including pricing various treatment services provided by practitioners, for telephonic collections and patient enquiries for multiple businesses in the healthcare sector.

**Responsibilities**:

- Support the Senior Bookkeeper in managing the bookkeeping operations including the review of journal entries, accounts payable, accounts receivable and statutory reporting

Enter data, maintain records, and create reports and financial statements
Process accounts receivable/payable and handle payroll in a timely manner
- Provide advice and guidance on all accounting matters including financial systems, record keeping, analysis, and reporting
- Fact checking accounting information
- Recording all transactions
- Disseminating reports to staff
- Balancing subsidiary accounts to reconcile accounts
- Ensuring all financial actions comply with local legal requirements
- Preparing financial reports by analyzing, collecting, and condensing account trends and information
- Using a system to account for the financial transactions made by the company to establish a chart of accounts
- Bank and credit card reconciliations
- Training and line management responsibility
- Government remittances
- Asset management - exert care and control over assets and records and establish procedures for safeguarding.
- Tax planning and compliance with Federal, Provincial, and local corporate, payroll, and other applicable taxes
- Calculate and file of government remittances such as GST, payroll reductions, EHT, and WSIB.
- Maintain accounts and relations with bankers and other third-party financial organizations.
- Coordinate the year-end audit and preparation of audited financial statements.
- Ensure rapid and consistent collection of receivables by refining and implementing control mechanisms.
- Track employee purchases - ensure appropriate use of company credit cards, purchase orders and receipts.
- Assign and authorize cheques, purchase orders and invoices.
- With input from management, work on the formulation of policies, procedures, and controls.
- Act as a back up for payroll and weekly & monthly invoicing when needed.
- Other related duties and required or assigned.

**Skills**:
Proven bookkeeping experience
Solid understanding of basic bookkeeping and accounting payable/receivable principles
Proven ability to calculate, post and manage accounting figures and financial records
Hands-on experience with spreadsheets and proprietary software
Proficient in English and in MS Office
- Ability to work with multiple entities
- Great interpersonal skills that enable the Bookkeeper to communicate with other employees clearly and effectively
- The ability to work on multiple projects while adhering to tight deadlines
- The ability to communicate complex financial data with members of the team
- Good data entry skills
- Familiarity with the general principles of accounting
- The ability to use various financial transactions such as accounts payable and accounts receivable
- Ability to adapt to new platforms and systems

Qualifications and Experience
- University degree in business, finance or another related field
- Minimum 1-2 years Bookkeeping experience
- Canadian experience deemed an asset
- Experience working with Quickbooks is an asset.
- Accredited bookkeeping designation/certification

Hands on AP & AR experience
Thorough knowledge of all relevant Federal, Provincial, and local requirements regarding financial records

Work Hours: 30-40Hrs/week
