Position Summary
This position is responsible for servicing the transit vehicles. This position reports to the Supervisor of Maintenance and Equipment. Duties & Responsibilities
Performs vehicle servicing functions including fuelling, checking and correcting fluid levels, exterior and interior cleaning and washing, testing of auxiliary equipment and minor maintenance/repairing.
Inspects lights, general body condition, tires, wheels and windshield wipers, etc. and reports defects to the shift supervisor.
Ensure security of cash forms and fareboxes during the changing process and proper recordkeeping associated with this task.
Assign transit coaches for the following day’s route assignments.
Performs general caretaking and housekeeping functions in department buildings.
Performs related duties as required. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Knowledge of the general rules and regulations of the Provincial Occupational Health and Safety Act and the City of Regina Occupational Health and Safety Manual.
Ability to carry out work assignments in a safe manner.
Ability to maintain co-operative and harmonious working relations with other employees.
Ability to understand and execute oral and written instructions.
Ability to effectively work in any of the technical trades within the department. Education & Experience
Typically, the knowledge, skills and abilities required are obtained through completion of Grade 10 as well as successful completion of the first year of any of the mechanical trades. The Good Stuff
