This compassionate, experienced coordinator will provide children and youth with grief support programs, including groups and one to one grief support services. **Role and Responsibilities**
- Assess children and youth for one to one and group participation and/or other services as appropriate; ensuring consent of parent/guardians
- Provide emotional support to grieving children and youth and facilitate grief groups
- Maintain, evaluate, and report program information to the Executive Director for board meeting and provide an annual program report
- Manage program records on client referrals, participation and evaluation
- Provide education and outreach support to the community, including schools and community organizations for the purpose of delivering grief support, as needed
- Work closely and in collaboration with program staff and ED to ensure ongoing program development that is responsive to needs of our clients and community

**Organizational**
- Represent the Society, in all communications in a courteous, professional, respectful, and timely manner
- Participate in staff meetings, program meetings and training as required
- Understand both the hospice philosophy and the range of services the Hospice Society offers to clients/families and others
- Refer clients, when appropriate, to other community resources and supports
- Work closely and in collaboration with Society staff and/or volunteers in the planning and implementation of programs and events as appropriate

**What you will bring to the role**
- A relevant professional degree and/or comparable combination of education and experience in child and youth care is required
- Understanding of expressive arts therapies and/or comparable modalities as a way of supporting children and youth through grief and loss
- Education and experience in death/dying grief and loss
- Flexibility required in hours worked to accommodate client needs i.e. after school, evening and weekends
- Excellent written, and interpersonal and communication skills
- Successful completion of a criminal record check
- This position requires full immunization status for COVID-19
