JOB** SUMMARY**: The Drainage Superintendent reports to and works under the direction and supervision of the Director of Public Works. The Drainage Superintendent is responsible for the implementation of a drainage system that meets the needs of all residents of Six Nations in collaboration with all stakeholders. Once implemented the Drainage Superintendent is responsible for the annual maintenance of this drainage system and investigating and responding to all community drainage concerns.
The Drainage Superintendent works within the policies and procedures established by Six Nations of the Grand River.

$90,000- $105,000

**BASIC QUALIFICATIONS**:

- Completion of the Drainage Superintendent Course through the Ontario Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs or willingness to complete.
- Certification with the Ontario Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs as a Drainage Superintendent or willingness to obtain.
- Three (3) years’ experience as a Drainage Superintendent or in a similar role.
- Certified and in good standing as an Engineering Technologist (CET) or Technician (C. Tech.) with the Ontario Association of Certified Engineering Technicians and Technologists (OACETT).
- Knowledge of related legislation including Occupational Health and Safety Act, Drainage Act, Drainage Tile Act, Highway Traffic Act, Class Environmental Assessments and other applicable legislation.
- Proficient in the use of surveying equipment, plan review and knowledge of municipal infrastructure is preferred.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate courteously and with tact, both orally and in writing, with all levels of staff, elected officials, consultants, contractors and the general public.
- Must have a valid class “G” Ontario Driver’s License with a satisfactory driver’s abstract.
