Waiter / Waitress

**Position Summary**:

We are looking for skilled Waiter’s and/or Waitresses’ to take orders and deliver food and beverages to our customers.

The right Waiter/Waitress uplifts the dining experience for customers. We are looking for someone who will have the patience, personality, good attitude and perseverance to thrive in this role.

Waiter/Waitress responsibilities include greeting and serving customers, providing detailed information on menus, multi-tasking various front-of-the-house duties and collecting the bill. If you can perform well in fast-paced environments, we’d like to meet you. To be a successful Waiter or Waitress, you should be polite with our customers and make sure they enjoy their meals. You should also be a team player and be able to effectively communicate with our kitchen staff to make sure orders are accurate and delivered promptly.

Keep in mind that Waiter/Waitress duties may require working in shifts and/or occasionally during weekends and holidays.

Ultimately, it is the duty of our Waiters/Waitresses to provide an excellent overall dining experience for our guests.

**Essential Functions**:

- Greet customers promptly upon arrival and escort to their tables
- Present menu and provide detailed information on specials. Inquire on food allergies. When asked, be knowledgeable on portions sizes and ingredients
- Prepare restaurant tables with special attention to sanitation and setup, silverware and glassware
- Take accurate drinks and food orders, using our POS (Lightspeed)
- Check customers’ IDs to ensure they meet minimum age requirements for consumption of alcoholic beverages
- Assists with any dining room needs.
- Serve food and drink orders in a timely manner
- Assists other team members as needed.
- Maintains a clean and sanitary work area.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Meet with restaurant staff to review daily specials, changes on the menu and service specifications for reservations (e.g. parties)
- Deal with complaints or problems with a positive attitude
- Deliver checks and collect bill payments
- Provide excellent customer service to all guests

**Requirements**:

- Proven work experience as a Waiter or Waitress
- Must be able to stand for 8-10 hours.
- Hands-on experience with debit, cash and ordering information system (e.g. POS)
- Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment where multiple tasks are required throughout the day.
- Active listening and effective communication skills
- Must be able to work in a team environment where team members are engaged with their peers in the workplace.
- Must have basic math skills; including addition, subtraction, division and multiplication.
- Serve it Right B.C.
- Food safe training is a plus
- Personable and Charming with all guests

**Job Types**: Full-time, Part-time, Casual
Part-time hours: 20-40 per week

**Salary**: $15.65-$23.00 per hour
