**Starting Salary**: $45,718 - $48,568 per year depending on experience
**Major Duties and Responsibilities**:
- Leads a team of Assistants, working with them to create a comfortable and welcoming atmosphere in the house.
- Oversees the support of core members through individual plans, regular medical appointments, meaningful daily activities, and active participation in all aspects of daily life in the home.
- Keeps up-to-date and accurate records in all areas: financial, medical, individual planning, etc.
- Ensures maintenance and upkeep of physical home, vehicle(s), and all house equipment and supplies
- Maintains regular and consistent schedule of individual (supervisory) roles and goals meetings, team meetings, house meetings and circles of learning
- Provides orientation and training to all Assistants responsible in the home, ensuring they have the tools and direction needed to be effective in their support of Core Members in the house.
- Leads regular team meetings of the House Team to support the day-to-day running of the home and sharing of information with the Assistant Team.
- Manages the scheduling of the Assistant team and Casual Assistants using L'Arche Antigonish's HRIS.
- Provides growth oriented feedback to Assistant team, creating an environment where learning and growth is supported and expected
- Participates in and leads reviews according to set process
- Liaisons with family members or guardians, professionals and specialists
- Plans and facilitates inclusive celebrations and traditions in the home that are representative of house members
- Collaborates with Leadership team in community as well as with assistants in home, participating in and contributing to House Leader and Team Leader meetings.
- Through their leadership of the House and observable behaviours, models L'Arche values in the home and wider L'Arche Community.
**Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience**
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Previous leadership experience or experience of demonstrating leadership behaviours
- Experience of supporting choice and independence in support settings
- Fluent in spoken and written English
- Knowledgeable about L’Arche history, values and vision
- Organized and able to set priorities and follow-through on commitments in timely fashion
- Excellent communication skills, including the ability to give direction, report information and model effective communication techniques/strategies with the individuals with developmental disabilities in the home
- Open to learn and grow; able to give and receive feedback
- Experience of effective delegation and supervision.
- Valid Drivers License and willingness to drive
- A current police check for the vulnerable sector
- Core Competencies including First Aid and Positive Behaviour Supports
- Able to lift up to 25kg
