**Counsellor/Peer Support Supervisor**

Heartwood Healing Centre facilitates the healing journey of people who have experienced childhood sexual abuse and increase society’s understanding of this form of trauma. We do this by providing therapeutic services, strengthening support systems, exchanging knowledge, and raising awareness.

**Salary**: $50,000

**Term**: Full-Time (35-hour work week); 1 year term
- **Main Responsibilities**:_
- Provide one-on-one support and/or counselling to clients in the Connect & Thrive Program.
- To develop, organize, and facilitate/co-facilitate therapy and support groups and workshops in the Connect & Thrive Program.
- Provide support and supervision to peer volunteers.
- Ensure activities and group work are evaluated as outlined in the agency’s evaluation plan.
- Provide referrals to other agencies as appropriate.
- Create an environment that fosters inclusion, safety, and community.
- **Qualifications**:_
- Undergraduate Degree, Diploma, Certificate, or experience in a related field.
- Experience developing and facilitating groups for people impacted by childhood sexual abuse, systemic oppression, and/or mental health challenges.
- Experience providing individual counselling through a trauma-informed lens.
- Experience related to the development and/or implementation of a Peer Support Program.
- Working knowledge of the impacts of violence, addiction, mental health, and unresolved trauma at an individual and community level.
- Working knowledge of the individual and societal impacts of childhood sexual abuse.
- Working knowledge of MS Office (Work, Excel, Outlook), and graphic design software (Canva).
- Awareness of and experience navigating community systems and resources.
- Demonstrated ability to work within and advocate for an anti-oppressive practice approach.
- Strong organizational, planning, and program facilitation skills.
